In the late 80’s, Wolfgang came to the United States from Vienna, Austria for his very first visit. He fell in love with the beautiful Hudson River Valley, reminding him very much of the mountains, lakes & rivers of Austria. After several trips here, he decided to transport his culinary training and expertise to begin his dream of creating an all-natural food company of his own. In 1991, Wolfgang B. Gourmet Foods, Inc. was born in the small Hudson River village of Saugerties, NY.
His company began with a line of fresh, all-natural refrigerated pasta sauces – his signature pesto, marinara, vodka, & Alfredo. From this base, he expanded into dips and spreads, from hummus to tapenades, from salsa to Agrodolce, from barbecue to Indian sauce – from solely refrigerated products to include shelf-stable packaging as well.
In 2007, thanks to the support of his clients, Wolfgang moved further up the Hudson River to Catskill, NY – restoring & expanding an old farm into a state-of-the-art, 10,000 square foot facility. Today, Wolfgang B. Gourmet Foods is an SQF company – certified to service small clients to the most sophisticated super market chains across the USA. All this success, thanks to his dedication to his guiding principle – “keep it fresh & all-natural.”
